Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Representative to drive sales growth, provide expert horticulture advice, and act as the primary liaison between our Japanese clients and our European headquarters. This role requires a strong network in the horticulture industry, hands-on experience, and the ability to manage relationships and projects with professionalism and strategic insight.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate and manage sales of professional horticultural substrates across Japan.
  • Identify new market opportunities and cultivate long-term business relationships with growers, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed regional revenue targets.

Horticulture Expertise

  • Provide expert technical advice and solutions to clients, including substrate recommendations tailored to specific crops, climate conditions, and production systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, innovative growing techniques, and the latest developments in horticultural substrates.

Account Management

  • Build trust and rapport with existing clients while maintaining regular communication to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Prepare and manage annual sales budgets and forecasts for the Japanese market.
  • Track and analyze sales performance, preparing regular reports for the European headquarters.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activity and market trends to inform strategic planning.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with the European headquarters to align regional activities with global objectives.
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure timely delivery and high-quality service.
  • Represent the KRONEN Group at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Qualifications & Skills

Required Experience & Knowledge

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the horticulture industry or a related sector.
  • A strong network of contacts within the Japanese horticulture industry, including growers, distributors, and industry associations.
  • Solid understanding of horticultural substrates, crops, and cultivation techniques.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to create budgets, forecasts, and detailed reports.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.

Language Requirements

  • Fluency in Japanese (native level) and English (business level).

Education

  • A degree in horticulture, agronomy, business, or a related field is preferred.
